This allele, which encodes E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase TRIM11, plays a role in ubiquitination of protein substrates. A chromosomal translocation t(1;19)(q42.13;p13.11) that fuses the CRTC1 gene and this gene is associated with cutaneous melanocytic tumor with CRTC1/TRIM11 fusion (CMTCT).
