**Definition:** Stage III includes: (T4, N0, M0); (Any T, N1, N2, M0). T4: Tumor invades visceral peritoneum (serosa) or other organs or adjacent structures. N0: No tumor involvement of regional lymph node(s). N1: Tumor involvement of less than 12 regional lymph nodes. N2: Tumor involvement of large mesenteric masses (measuring more than 2 cm) and/or extensive nodal deposits (12 or greater), especially those that encase the superior mesenteric vessels. Note: Mesenteric masses measuring 2 cm or less should be stated in the pathology report as being present and collected by registrars but do not affect stage. M0: No distant metastasis. (AJCC 9th ed.)
