Anti-FOLR1 CAR T-cells

**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** A preparation of T-lymphocytes that have been engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for folate receptor alpha (FolRa; FOLR1), with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, anti-FOLR1 CAR T-cells specifically recognize and bind to FOLR1-expressing tumor cells, resulting in specific T-cell-mediated tumor cell lysis. FOLR1 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linked cell surface glycoprotein that is widely expressed in certain cancers while its expression is limited in normal tissues.

**Synonyms:** - Anti-FOLR1 CAR-T Cells - FH-FOLR1 CAR T Cells
