**Definition:** An orally bioavailable coumarin derivative and phytochemical extracted from Daphne species, with potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, analgesic, antipyretic, antimalarial, antibacterial, anti-arthritic, neuroprotective, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, daphnetin has a variety of mechanism of actions and modulates various signal transduction pathways. Daphnetin may reduce lymphedema by binding to and facilitating the removal of proteins, thereby reducing fluid retention.
