Upon intraoperative injection into the site of surgical tumor resection, the immunotherapeutic gel SRG-514 releases an as of yet unidentified immunotherapeutic agent locally and may, through an as of yet unidentified mechanism of action, stimulate the cancer-suppressed immune system to eliminate any remaining cancer cells locally and systemically which may prevent cancer recurrence and metastasis after cancer surgery.
