**Definition:** An updated classification system for myeloid neoplasms and acute leukemias that was published in 2022. It is based on the World Health Organization 4th edition (2016) classification of myeloid neoplasms and acute leukemias that was a collaboration between the World Health Organization, the Society for Hematopathology, and the European Association for Haematopathology. It is based on clinical, pathologic, and genetic characteristics and its aim is to achieve broad consensus among hematopathologists, geneticists, molecular scientists, and clinicians.
