NSD3/NUTM1 Fusion Gene

**Definition:** A fusion gene resulting from a chromosomal translocation t(8;15)(p12;q15) that fuses the first 7 exons of the NSD3 gene upstream of exon 2 of the NUTM1 gene. This rearrangement is associated with NUT carcinomas, malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) and some thyroid cancers.
