KMT2A/FOXO4 Fusion Gene

**Definition:** A fusion gene that results from a chromosomal translocation t(X;11)(q13;q23) that fuses the KMT2A gene downstream of the forkhead domain sequence for the FOXO4 gene. This chromosomal rearrangement is associated with both acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in infants and young children.
