DNA-Dependent Protein Kinase Complex

**Definition:** A heterotrimeric complex of the DNA-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit protein (PRKDC or DNA-PKcs) and the Ku protein, which is a heterodimer composed of X-ray repair cross-complementing proteins 5 and 6, XRCC5/Ku86 and XRCC6/Ku70, respectively. This complex is involved in ribosome assembly, DNA non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) required for double-strand break (DSB) repair and V(D)J recombination, and serine/threonine phosphorylation of proteins involved in DNA damage response/repair.
