Bromodomain and Extra-Terminal Domain Protein

**Definition:** A family of transcriptional regulatory proteins with 2 bromodomains and the N-terminal region of the extra terminal domain (NET). These proteins regulate gene transcription by promoting colocalization of histones, GATA-binding proteins and select transcriptional coactivators through binding to acetylated lysine residues on those proteins.
