**Definition:** Human TCN2 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 22q12.2 and is approximately 20 kb in length. This allele, which encodes transcobalamin-2 protein, is involved in the transport of vitamin B12 (cob(II)alamin). Loss of function mutations in the gene are associated with transcobalamin II deficiency.
