This allele, which encodes paired-like homeodomain transcription factor LEUTX protein, plays a role in the transition from maternal to zygotic genome transcription during embryogenesis. Rearrangements involving this gene and the CIC gene are associated with angiosarcoma, anaplastic ganglioglioma, anaplastic astrocytoma with epithelioid glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) features and CIC-rearranged sarcomas.
