Adeno-associated Virus Encoding Anti-CD19/Anti-CD3 Bispecific Diabody VNX-101
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** An off-the-shelf preparation of adeno-associated virus (AAV) encoding the anti-CD19/anti-CD3 bispecific diabody GP101, with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, AAV encoding anti-CD19/anti-CD3 bispecific diabody VNX-101 induces the secretion of GP101 by hepatocytes and other cells into the bloodstream. GP101 binds to both the CD3 antigen on T-cells and the CD19 antigen expressed on tumor cells. This results in the cross-linking of T-cells and tumor cells, and induces a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against CD19-expressing tumor cells. CD19 antigen is a B-cell specific cell surface antigen overexpressed in B-cell lineage malignancies.
