ALAD wt Allele

**Definition:** Human ALAD wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 9q32 and is approximately 15 kb in length. This allele, which encodes delta-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase protein, is involved in porphobilinogen biosynthesis. Mutations in the gene are associated with acute hepatic porphyria.
