ALG8 wt Allele

**Semantic type:** Gene or Genome

**Definition:** Human ALG8 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 11q14.1 and is approximately 44 kb in length. This allele, which encodes dolichyl pyrophosphate Glc1Man9GlcNAc2 alpha-1,3-glucosyltransferase protein, is involved in the synthesis of glycans linked to asparagine residues in proteins. Mutation of this gene is associated with congenital disorder of glycosylation 1H and polycystic liver disease 3 with or without kidney cysts.
