Phosphorylated Serine/Threonine-Protein Kinase Chk2
**Semantic type:** Amino Acid, Peptide, or Protein
**Definition:** A post-translationally modified form of serine/threonine-protein kinase Chk2 (CHEK2) where one or more serine or threonine residues are phosphorylated. DNA-damage stimulates phosphorylation of this protein, which promotes its dimerization, autophosphorylation and activation of its kinase activity. Activated CHEK2 promotes checkpoint-mediated cell cycle arrest by phosphorylating and inhibiting substrates involved in cell cycle progression.
**Synonyms:** - Phospho-CHEK2 - Phospho-CHK2 - Phosphorylated CDS1 - Phosphorylated CHEK2 - Phosphorylated CHK2 - Phosphorylated Checkpoint Kinase 2 - Phosphorylated Checkpoint-Like Protein CHK2 - p-CHEK2 - p-CHK2 - pCHEK2 - pCHK2
