**Definition:** An orally available, blood-brain-barrier (BBB) penetrant, mutant-specific inhibitor of the receptor tyrosine kinase epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), with potential antineoplastic activity. This prevents EGFR-mediated signaling and may result in the inhibition of tumor growth in susceptible tumor cells.
