**Definition:** UDP-glucose 4-epimerase (348 aa, ~38 kDa) is encoded by the human GALE gene. This protein plays a role in the reversible epimerization of UDP-glucose to UDP-galactose and of UDP-N-acetylglucosamine to UDP-N-acetylgalactosamine.
