**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** A live biotherapeutic product composed of four CRISPR-Cas-armed phages (CAPs) genetically modified to specifically target a diverse spectrum of Escherichia coli (E. coli) strains, with potential E.coli colonization reducing and E. coli killing activities. Upon oral administration, E. coli-targeting genetically modified bacteriophage SNIPR001 targets and kills a diverse spectrum of E. coli strains, and reduces E. coli colonization including fluoroquinolone-resistant E. coli in the gut. This may prevent and treat E. coli infections.
