CDC7 Inhibitor LBS-007
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A non-ATP competitive inhibitor of cell division cycle 7-related protein kinase (CDC7), with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon administration, CDC7 kinase inhibitor LBS-007 targets, binds to and inhibits the activity of CDC7, which may result in the inhibition of DNA replication and mitosis. This leads to genomic instability, induces cell death, and inhibits tumor cell proliferation in CDC7-overexpressing tumor cells. The serine-threonine kinase CDC7 plays a key role in DNA replication and DNA damage response by binding to and phosphorylating serine (Ser)-40 and 53 of minichromosome maintenance complex component 2 (MCM2). Although expressed at low levels in healthy, normal cells, CDC7 is overexpressed in a variety of cancer cell types.
