Heel-shin Slide Assessment for Ataxia

**Definition:** An assessment for ataxia where an individual lies on an examination bed without sight of their legs and is asked to lift one leg and point with the heel to the opposite knee. They are then asked to slide the heel down along the shin to the ankle and lay the leg back on the examination bed. Scores are based on their ability to perform the movements while keeping the heel in contact with the shin.
