Dihydrorhodamine Positive Neutrophils

**Definition:** An indication that a functional respiratory burst was detected in neutrophils stained with dihydrorhodamine. Briefly, the respiratory burst produces superoxide that drives the oxidation of dihydrorhodamine and yields the fluorescent molecule rhodamine. This result signifies that the subject is not suffering from chronic granulomatous disease (CGD).
