Contracaecum Infection

**Definition:** A parasitic infection involving nematodes of the Contracaecum genus (usually C. osculatum complex). Contracaecum can cause anisakiasis, a disease affecting the gastric and intestinal mucosa contracted by humans through ingestion of larvae in raw or undercooked fish or squid.
