KAT6 Inhibitor OP-3136

**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** An orally bioavailable inhibitor of histone acetyltransferases KAT6A (MOZ; MYST3) and KAT6B (MORF; MOZ2; MYST4), with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon oral administration, KAT6 inhibitor OP-3136 targets and binds to KAT6A and KAT6B, and inhibits the acetylation of histones and other nonhistone substrates. This may disrupt gene expression and inhibit the proliferation of tumors that overexpress KAT6A and KAT6B. KAT6A and KAT6B, members of the MYST family of chromatin regulators, are commonly amplified genes in solid tumors and play key roles in cell cycle regulation and in tumorigenesis.

**Synonyms:** - KAT6A/B Inhibitor OP-3136 - KAT6A/KAT6B Inhibitor OP-3136 - OP 3136 - OP-3136 - OP3136
