**Definition:** Protein disulfide-isomerase (508 aa, ~57 kDa) is encoded by the human P4HB gene. This protein plays a role in the formation of 4-hydroxyproline in collagen, the stabilization of microsomal triglyceride transfer protein large subunit and the formation, breakage and rearrangement of disulfide bonds in nascent proteins.
