This allele, which encodes GPI-anchor transamidase component PIGT protein, plays a role in regulation of the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor transaminase complex. Mutations in the gene are associated with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria 2 and multiple congenital anomalies-hypotonia-seizures syndrome 3.
