**Definition:** Human CALM2 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 2p21 and is approximately 17 kb in length. This allele, which encodes calmodulin protein, plays a role in the regulation of the cell cycle, calcium-dependent channel activity, neurotransmission and cardiac muscle contraction. Mutations in the gene are associated with long QT syndrome 15.
