STEAP2-targeting Radioconjugate AZD2287
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A radioconjugate targeting the tumor-associated antigen (TAA) metalloreductase six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate-2 (STEAP2; STAMP1) labeled with an as of yet unidentified radioisotope, with potential diagnostic properties upon single photon emission computed tomography and computed tomography (SPECT/CT) imaging. Upon administration, the STEAP2-targeting radioconjugate AZD2287 targets and binds to STEAP2-expressing prostate cancer cells. Upon imaging, AZD2287 binding to STEAP2 on cancer cells can be visualized and the expected response to treatment using therapeutic versions of similar STEAP2-targeting agents can be assessed. STEAP2 is a cell surface antigen overexpressed in prostate cancer with limited expression in normal tissue.
