Alpha Galactosylceramide-loaded Nanocells EDV-GC
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A nanocell formulation composed of bacterially derived nanospheres packaged with the immunoadjuvant and glycolipid alpha galactosylceramide (aGC), with potential immunomodulating and antineoplastic-enhancing activities. Upon administration of GC-loaded EDVs EDV-GC, the nanocells are stable in the bloodstream and reach the tumor microenvironment (TME) through the leaky tumor vasculature. Upon binding to and phagocytosed by macrophages and dendritic cells (DCs), the nanocell is broken down and releases aGC. aGC stimulates invariant natural killer T-cells (iNKT cells) and potentially enhances the anti-tumor immune response of PNU-159682-loaded EGFR-targeting nanocells E-EDV-D682.
**Synonyms:** - Alpha Galactosylceramide-loaded EDVs - EDV Nanocells Carrying Alpha Galactosylceramide - EDV-GC - EnGeneIC Dream Vectors Containing aGC - aGC packaged EDVs - aGC-loaded EDVs - aGC-loaded EnGeneIC Delivery Vehicles
