ANKS1B wt Allele
**Semantic type:** Gene or Genome
**Definition:** Human ANKS1B wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 12q23.1 and is approximately 1258 kb in length. This allele, which encodes ankyrin repeat and sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 1B, may play a role in the modulation of nucleolar numbers and amyloid precursor protein processing. Overexpression of the gene is stimulated by a chromosomal translocation t(1;19)(q23;p13.3) resulting in fusions of the TFE3 and PBX1 genes that is associated with B lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma.
