Lm-based Vector Expressing GUCY2C Vaccine
**Semantic type:** Immunologic Factor|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A cancer vaccine containing a Listeria monocytogenes (Lm)-based vector encoding human guanylate cyclase 2C (GUCY2C; GCC; GC-C; guanylyl cyclase C; heat-stable enterotoxin receptor; hSTAR), with potential immunostimulatory and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, the Lm-based vector expressing GUCY2C vaccine is taken up by antigen presenting cells (APCs), and GUCY2C is processed and presented to the immune system. This activates the immune system to exert a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-mediated response against GUCY2C-expressing tumor cells. GUCY2C, a transmembrane receptor expressed on intestinal epithelial cells, is overexpressed on certain tumors of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
**Synonyms:** - Lm-GUCY2C Vaccine
