Autologous Anti-B7-H3 CAR-4-1BBL-expressing T-cells SJCARB7H3_41BBL
**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A preparation of autologous T-lymphocytes that have been genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the immunoregulatory protein B7-homologue 3 (B7-H3, CD276), and to express tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily (TNFSF) member 9 (TNFSF9; 4-1BBL), with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon infusion back into the patient, autologous anti-B7-H3 CAR-4-1BBL-expressing T-cells SJCARB7H3_41BBL target and bind to B7-H3-expressing tumor cells, thereby inducing selective toxicity in B7-H3-expressing tumor cells. These cells also express 4-1BBL, a secreted protein and member of the TNFSF of growth factors, that induces proliferation of T-cells and may help reverse immunosuppression in the tumor environment. B7-H3, a type I transmembrane protein and a member of the B7 co-stimulatory protein superfamily, is overexpressed on certain tumor cell types and on various immune cells. It is a negative regulator of the T-cell activation; its overexpression plays a key role in tumor cell invasion and metastasis.
**Synonyms:** - Autologous Anti-B7-H3 CAR-T Cells - Autologous CAR T-cells SJCARB7H3_41BBL - SJCARB7H3_41BBL
