**Definition:** A cancer vaccine containing an epitope of glycosphingolipid GD2 conjugated with the immunostimulant keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), with potential antineoplastic activity. The disialoganglioside GD2 is a tumor-associated antigen expressed on the surface of several cancers, including neuroblastoma medulloblastomas, astrocytomas, melanomas, small-cell lung cancer, osteosarcomas, and other soft tissue sarcomas. Vaccination with GD2-KLH vaccine may elicit antibody production against cells expressing GD2 ganglioside, thereby reducing tumor cell growth.
