**Definition:** A modified peptide antigen derived from gp209, with potential immunomodulatory and antineoplastic activities. gp209-2M antigen (IMDQVPFSV) has a methionine substitution of threonine at position 2 of gp209 peptide (ITDQVPFSV), which is the immunogenic epitope of human melanoma tumor glycoprotein gp100. Vaccination with this peptide may evoke a cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells expression of the gp100 antigen.
