Y 90 Monoclonal Antibody HMFG1

**Definition:** A radioimmunoconjugate consisting of HMFG1, a humanized monoclonal antibody directed against the tumor associated antigen mucin-1 (MUC-1), labeled with the beta-emitting radioisotope yttrium 90 (Y-90), with potential antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, the monoclonal antibody moiety targets and binds to MUC-1 on the surface of certain tumor cells. Upon binding and internalization, pemtumomab and delivers a cytotoxic dose of beta radiation to MUC1-expressing tumor cells. MUC1, a glycoprotein overexpressed on the surface of a variety of cancer cells, plays a key role in tumor cell survival and proliferation.
