Breslow Thickness

**Definition:** The measurement in millimeters of the vertical thickness of primary cutaneous melanoma. Breslow thickness is measured from the granular layer of the epidermis, or the ulcer base (if ulcerated), to the deepest tumor cells. It is used in staging of melanoma. (NCI)
