**Definition:** An ~60 amino acid extracellular protein domain that contains a conserved tryptophan and four invariant cysteines (Cys), where Cys 1 and Cys 3 form one disulfide bridge and Cys 2 and Cys 4 form another. The tertiary structure for sushi domains is based on a beta-sandwich, where one face is made up of three beta-strands that are hydrogen-bonded forming a central hydrophobic triple-stranded region and the other face is comprised of two additional beta-strands.
