**Definition:** A benign squamoproliferative skin lesion caused by human papillomavirus. It is characterized by hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, papillomatosis, parakeratosis, and prominent rete ridges. It usually affects the hands and fingers. Other sites of involvement include the elbows, knees, face, and genitalia.
