**Definition:** A chromosomal translocation involving breakpoints within the q32 band on the long arm of chromosome 14 and the q21 band on the long arm of chromosome 18. This rearrangement is associated with aberrant expression of either the BCL2 gene and follicular lymphoma, or the MALT1 gene, in extranodal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma.
