**Definition:** Antiquated term describing non-Hodgkin lymphomas that are usually diffuse and are composed of large cells with irregular nuclei, invisible nucleoli and a small amount of cytoplasm. This morphologic category includes both mature B- and mature T-cell lymphomas.
