**Definition:** A neoplastic process characterized by the presence of architectural abnormalities and dysplasia of the esophageal glandular epithelium. It is a pre-invasive lesion that is often associated with Barrett esophagus and is classified as low- or high- grade. It has a significant risk of progression to invasive esophageal adenocarcinoma.
