**Definition:** A chromosomal translocation involving breakpoints within the p23 band on the short arm of chromosome 2 and the q35 band on the long arm of chromosome 5. This rearrangement is associated with NPM1-ALK or SQSTM1-ALK fusion gene expression and anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
