Stage IIB

**Semantic type:** Clinical Attribute

**Definition:** Invasive cancer more extensive than stage I without spread to distant anatomic sites. The definition of stage IIB depends on the particular type of cancer that it refers to; for example, for colorectal cancer, stage IIB includes: T4a, N0, M0. T4a: Tumor invades through the visceral peritoneum (including gross perforation of the bowel through tumor and continuous invasion of tumor through areas of inflammation to the surface of the visceral peritoneum). N0: No regional lymph node metastasis. M0: No distant metastasis. (AJCC 8th ed.)
