Gleason Pattern 1

**Semantic type:** Classification

**Definition:** A pattern of prostate carcinoma characterized by the presence of a well circumscribed nodule of separate glands which are closely packed. There is no infiltration of the surrounding parenchyma. The epithelial polarity of the malignant cells is preserved and luminal differentiation is present in all glands.
