Parachloroamphetamine

**Definition:** A chlorinated neurotoxic derivative of amphetamine. Although the exact mechanism of action has yet to be fully elucidated, parachloroamphetamine (PCA) neurotoxicity appears to be the result of unrestrained release of both serotonin and dopamine; PCA is used by researchers to selectively kill serotonergic neurons.
