**Definition:** A synthetic peptide consisting of amino acids 27 through 35 of the melanoma differentiation antigen MART-1. 27-35(27L) MART-1 has a leucine substitution at amino acid position 27 to improve binding to HLA-A*0201. Vaccination with this agent may stimulate the host immune response to mount a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte response against melanoma cells expressing MART-1.
