Sennosides

**Definition:** Anthraquinone glycosides found in senna plant, usually referring to the sennosides A and B, with laxative activity. Sennosides act on and irritate the lining of the intestine wall, thereby causing increased intestinal muscle contractions leading to vigorous bowel movement.
