Cresidine

**Definition:** A white, crystalline aromatic amine that is soluble in organic solvents and emits toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides when heated to decomposition. p-Cresidine is exclusively used as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of dyes. p-Cresidine is reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen based on evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals.
