Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1

**Definition:** Multiple endocrine neoplasia caused by inactivation of the tumor suppressor gene MEN-1. Patients may develop hyperparathyroidism and parathyroid gland adenomas, pituitary gland adenomas, and neuroendocrine tumors.
