Vestibular Schwannoma

**Definition:** A benign peripheral nerve sheath neoplasm that arises from the vestibular division of the vestibulocochlear nerve (eight cranial nerve) in the auditory canal or within the labyrinth. It is composed almost entirely of differentiated neoplastic Schwann cells.
